Adam Thomas sends fans wild as he announces Waterloo Road return with reunion

Adam Thomas has given fans the news they have been hoping for.

The former Emmerdale actor is making a big return to the small screen as he reprises his role in Waterloo Road.

It was announced in September that the BBC school-based series is returning after six years.

Waterloo Road last aired in 2015, three years after they moved filming from Greater Manchester to Scotland.

But the BBC revealed that the new series of the award-winning Waterloo Road will be set and made in Greater Manchester once again.

It's now been revealed that Donte Charles WILL be back.

And he won't be alone.

Adam took to Instagram with a snap of himself cuddling up to Katie Griffiths who is returning as Chlo Charles.

"The news is finally out!!!" he captioned the snap. Donte and Chloe are back!!

"@waterlooroad coming soon… @bbc @bbciplayer."

The post also featured a brilliant throwback snap of the pair as pupils at Waterloo Road.

And fans have gone wild.

@sashalouise19 wrote: "This is all my childhood dreams coming true."

"Omg yayyy can’t wait!" @looksbylucex shared.

And there was plenty of 'Oh my God's' and tagging of friends.

Also returning to the show is Angela Griffin, who will reprise her role of Kim Campbell, and is now headteacher of the school.

The BBC has released images of the trio on set ahead of filming commencing.

Adam commented: "I’m so excited to go back to where it all started! Waterloo Road was a huge part of my life and career so to go back 15 years later is a dream come true.

"I feel so blessed to have been given this opportunity to get back to acting and doing what I love! I can’t wait to see some old faces and some new. I know this series is going to be the best one yet…"

Katie added: "I am incredibly excited to be returning to Waterloo Road - loved by all who make and watch it! Chlo was my first professional acting role, and I feel so lucky to be part of the show again.

"I can't wait to see what stories unfold!"
