Adam Thomas has revealed his upset at not being approached to return to I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! for the special All Star edition..
Hosts Ant and Dec announced earlier this year that a group of much-loved former campmates from throughout the years would reunite for a unique South Africa series.
Former Emmerdale actor Adam appeared on the show in 2016 and finished in third place losing out to Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt.
In a recent interview with OK! Adam revealed he'd been shocked not to get the call-up to return with fellow 'legends' of the show.
Speaking to OK! magazine, Adam said: “The best of the best are going back, aren’t they? I mean, I don’t know why I didn’t get invited.”
Adam added: “I kept looking at my phone like, “Where’s my call? Why have they not rung me?”
Adam misses out on joining the likes of Amir Khan, Phil Tufnell, Jordan Banjo, Gillian McKeith, Carol Vorderman, Georgia Toffolo, Mylene Klass and Joe Swash in the jungle line-up.
The spin-off will also have a completely different format to the Australia version, so fans should be prepared for “anything” to happen.
"It's a different format to Australia, who knows when and where celebrities will enter camp, literally anything could happen,” a source told The Sun.
"It's not clear how many will start in camp or how many will be there by the end when one is crowned King or Queen of the jungle, possibly for a second time.
"It's the best of I'm A Celebrity, quite literally, but there's some twists and surprises along the way for viewers and campers so it's not going to be as straightforward as they might think."
In the same interview, the Waterloo Road actor opened up about the difficulties of leaving a regular job on a soap.
“Ever since I left Emmerdale, I’ve been going from job to job, not knowing necessarily where my next pay cheque is coming from,” Adam said.
“It’s tough and it’s a lot to take on. I think this job has helped a lot because it’s just brought stability into our lives. It was a year’s contract and I knew what money I was getting. I felt like I could breathe.
“But now I’m like, “What am I doing next?” I find it quite tough to be present and try and enjoy as much as I can instead of thinking about what’s coming next.”
