Just days after his release by the Minnesota Vikings, first-time free agent Adam Thielen is set to visit the Carolina Panthers on Wednesday. Whether he is likely to sign with the Panthers is unknown at this juncture, though their recent trade for the first-overall pick in the upcoming draft left them with a dire need for a receiver after star wideout D.J. Moore was included in the deal.
This is interesting: The #Panthers are expected to host former #Vikings WR Adam Thielen on a visit tomorrow. The veteran has plenty left and Carolina will get the first look.

Thielen was a beloved part of the Vikings’ offense for the better part of a decade, earning Pro Bowl honors twice and being named to the All-Pro second team in 2017. His massive cap number for the 2023 season and the advent of Justin Jefferson in Minnesota’s offense necessitated that the Vikings cut ties with the talented receiver, though his departure was certainly a blow to the team’s loyal fanbase.
As one of the most accomplished pass catchers on the market, Thielen is sure to have no shortage of suitors as free agency wears on, and his status as a proven receiving threat should give him options to sign with a number of teams. Though Carolina is set to be his first visit of the 2023 offseason, Vikings fans shouldn’t expect it to be his last.
