Carolina Panthers wideout Adam Thielen reeled in eight catches for 72 yards in this past weekend’s win over the Houston Texans. But that was just an off-day for the NFL’s most reliable receiver.
The 33-year-old veteran is still surging through his resurgent campaign—as he’s now, through seven games, up to 581 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 57 grabs. Those numbers are even more impressive when you realize that he’s posted them flawlessly.
As noted by Pro Football Focus, Thielen currently leads the entire league in targets without a drop. The two-time Pro Bowler, who may very well be making a bid for a third all-star nod, has been targeted 70 times—the 11th-highest total amongst all pass catchers.
The next closest receivers to the impressive mark are Tampa Bay’s Chris Godwin and New England’s Kendrick Bourne. Both Godwin and Bourne have chalked up 55 looks without a drop.
Overall, Thielen ranks sixth in receptions, 12th in receiving yards and sixth in first-down catches.
