Adam Silver Addresses Chris Paul-Scott Foster Beef After Recent Run-In

NBA commissioner Adam Silver is no stranger to the ongoing feud between NBA veteran official Scott Foster and Warriors guard Chris Paul.

In November, Foster ejected Paul in the second quarter of the Warriors’ 123-115 loss to the Suns after Phoenix’s telecast appeared to show the veteran guard calling the official a “b----.” After the Nov. 22 loss, Paul told reporters that his beef with Foster was “personal” involving a situation about his son and had a meeting with the official, Doc Rivers and Bob Delaney about the issue.

During an appearance on SiriusXM NBA radio on Wednesday, Silver said he does not anticipate Paul and Foster being buddies. However, he expects them to do their jobs effectively.

“Whatever the bad blood is between you two, you [Chris Paul and NBA Referee Scott Foster] don’t have to be friends but you both have to go out and do your jobs,” Silver said. “That’s my expectation going forward.”

Mannix: The Feud Between Chris Paul and Scott Foster Is a Battle for Perception

There is a length history between Foster and Paul when the two are on the same court together. Foster has officiated 20 of Paul’s playoff games. In those 20 contests, the 12-time All-Star is 3-17 that included 13 consecutive losses at one point during that time span.

It is highly likely that Paul has not seen the last of Foster officiating his regular season games as well as the Warriors’ run in the playoffs.
