Before Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor told reporters on Monday that it was far too early to make a call on Joe Burrow for next week, ESPN’s Adam Schefter said something similar.
Appearing on Pat McAfee’s show, Schefter suggested it’s totally worth wondering if Burrow will suit up at all for “Monday Night Football” against the Los Angeles Rams.
Buy Bengals Tickets“Joe Burrow tweaked his calf yesterday and he obviously hasn’t looked right these first two weeks,” Schefter said. “I think it’s fair to wonder if he’s gonna be ready to go on Monday night against the Rams.”
As Schefter alluded to, it has now been confirmed that the Bengals pulled back on the playbook in an effort to not re-injure Burrow on things like long drops from under center and rollouts.
The Bengals figure to wait until Thursday’s first practice of the week before making a call on Burrow after input from trainers and doctors.
For now, we can only break down the pros and cons of shutting Burrow down.
