Adam Peaty has took to social media with a cryptic posts just hours after announcing his split from girlfriend Eiri Munro.
On Tuesday night the Strictly Come Dancing star and Olympic swimmer told his 609k Instagram followers that they've decided to go their separate ways and that he was sorry for letting Eiri and their 2-year-old son George down.
Adam, 27, has tonight posted on his Instagram story an image of him solo on a bike captioned 'space'. The athletes face isn't visible in the picture.
Confirming the news of the split Adam said his only interest is for the well-being of our family. Eiri told her fans that the next chapter of her life was going to be 'incredibly difficult'.
She said: "The last three years have been so, so amazing. Our little family has experienced so much laughter and love and joy. You guys have been such a significant part of that!
"This next chapter of my life is surely going to be an incredibly difficult one. I would appreciate that people would refrain from commenting, speculating or messaging. I have shared so much of my life, but for now I'm choosing privacy and I hope that you will all respect that.
"I love and appreciate you all so much and I'm so thankful for all the fun and opportunities you've given me. I am going to be taking a break from social media, so goodbye for now. Thank you so much for everything."
