Adam Lallana sends Liverpool message to youngster Jurgen Klopp 'trusts'

Former Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana believes that Jurgen Klopp has trust in youngster Curtis Jones.

The 21-year-old has had a mixed season so far this term after being handed starts, but then missing out on matchday squads - like the Carabao Cup final.

Jones was thrown into the Liverpool midfield in the midweek clash against Inter Milan in the Champions League round of 16 second leg.

However, the youngster is yet to nail down a place in the Jurgen Klopp 's squad, but Brighton man Lallana believes he's earned the trust of the German boss.

“Jurgen starting Curtis [against Inter Milan in the Champions League midweek] just shows how much he trusts him,” Lallana told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.

“When I was there, he was still learning his trade.

“Maybe he might have taken a few too many risks. But I think he has developed into a disciplined midfielder, who knows when to express himself and when not to.

“Not to keep it simple, but know when to take risks, especially with the front three playing.”

Lallana and Jones could come head-to-head on Saturday lunchtime if both are selected to play in Liverpool's match away at Brighton in the Premier League.
