Adam Devine commits future to Rangers with Ross Wilson hailing his 'excellent progress'

Adam Devine has penned his future to Rangers by signing a new three-year deal.

The academy graduate will now remain at Ibrox until 2025 as he continues to fight for a place in Giovanni van Bronckhorst's squad. The youngster made his top team debut against Dundee United in a 2-0 win last term and has played a further two top team games.

The young full-back has been in the matchday squad for all three UEFA Champions League group fixtures to date - with the Light Blues yet to get off the mark in the competition and a Battle of Britain return showdown with Liverpool to come at Ibrox this midweek. Devine was handed the full 90 minutes in the Premier Sports Cup last 16 win over Scottish League One outfit Queen of the South back in August and he will be looking to land even further top team experience this term with his long-term future now secured. His new deal follows hot on the heels of Robby McCrorie, who has also committed until 2025.

Sporting Director, Ross Wilson told the Rangers website: "We have developed our Academy development programme considerably in recent seasons with a clear focus on clear individual plans.

"Adam has been making excellent progress against his plan which is naturally pleasing for Gio, and all of our coaching and support staff. I am sure that Adam’s hard work and progress will continue."

Rangers made it three league wins on the bounce after a thumping home win over St Mirren.

A double from Antonio Colak and strikes from skipper James Tavernier and Fashion Sakala secured all three points. The gap at the top to league leaders Celtic remains at just two points.
