Actor Steve Buscemi attends the premiere of "The Dead Don't Die" at the Museum of Modern Art, June 10, 2019, in New York. Buscemi was punched in the face by a random attacker on a New York City

An incident occurred in New York City last week where actor Steve Buscemi was attacked by a man identified as Clifton Williams. The assault took place while Buscemi was walking down the street, with Williams allegedly approaching him and randomly punching him in broad daylight. As a result of the attack, Buscemi sustained injuries including bruising, swelling, and bleeding from his left eye. Witnesses reported that Buscemi attempted to chase after the suspect but was unable to apprehend him.

Following the incident, Buscemi was promptly taken to the hospital for medical treatment. His publicist later provided an update to the media, confirming that the actor was okay and expressing gratitude for the well wishes received from the public. The publicist also mentioned that Buscemi was saddened by the unfortunate event that occurred while he was simply walking the streets of New York.

Interestingly, it was revealed that the correct pronunciation of Buscemi's last name is different from what has been commonly used. The publicist noted that the actor actually prefers the pronunciation 'Buscemi,' indicating that there has been a long-standing mispronunciation of his name.
