Actor Michael Kopsa, who appeared in ‘X-Files’ and ‘Watchmen,’ dead at 66

Canadian actor Michael Kopsa, a fixture in Hallmark movies and also known for roles in “The X-Files” and “Watchmen,” has died at age 66.

Kopsa’s former wife announced his Sunday death in a tweet Tuesday.

“The great Michael Kopsa, my dear friend and the father of my child, Nora, passed away Oct 23 2022 of a brain tumor,” wrote Lucia Frangione.

Kopsa was remembered as “an incredible stage and screen actor, voice actor, carpenter, musician and painter” as well as “a loving and richly present father.”

Among Kopsa’s more than 230 credits were voice roles on “Mobile Suit Gundam,” “X-Men: Evolution,” “The X-Files,” “Gadget and the Gadgetinis” as well as multiple voice roles on “Inuyasha” and “Littlest Pet Shop.” His slew of Hallmark credits include “Appetite for Love,” “A Rose for Christmas,” “Valentine in the Vineyard” and his last-ever screen role, 2020′s “Love in the Forecast.”

Hallmark Channel was among those paying tribute to Kopsa, whose work also included lending his voice to video games: “A friend and colleague to many, today we honor the legacy of Michael Kopska [sic]. Always in our hearts,” the channel posted on Instagram.

“Such a heartbreaking loss. #rip,” commented Ali Sweeney, who acted alongside Kopsa in multiple Hallmark productions.
