ACTOR and comedian Karen Dunbar gave Scotland a big shout out after she won a Bafta for her debut in the video games world.
The star, best known for her role in the sketch comedy Chewin' The Fat, won best performer in a supporting role for Still Wakes the Deep, a first-person horror set on a Scottish oil rig, at the 21st Bafta Game Awards.
Co-star and fellow Scot Alec Newman was also named best performer in a leading role at the ceremony in London on Tuesday.
Dunbar told the audience she was “completely overwhelmed” when she was announced as the winner.
She went on to joke: “I'm not even an actor, I'm a gynaecologist."
Dunbar added: “I'm an actor. I'm a Scottish actor.
“I have been nominated for many a Scottish Bafta and never won one.
“And yet here I am in the gaming community, thank you so much for this.”
Still Wakes the Deep follows offshore electrician Caz, played by Newman, and his co-worker Finlay, played by Dunbar. The story is inspired by classic horror and science fiction films like John Carpenter's The Thing.
The pair are trapped on a damaged North Sea drilling platform in 1975 and are pursued by mysterious monsters while having to deal with dangerous weather conditions.
Players rely on stealthy gameplay and puzzle-solving to stay alive.

After listing her friends, co-star and agent, Dunbar went on to thank Scotland in her speech as she concluded by saying, “I fucking won”.
The speech was shared across social media by fans, the BBC, and Dunbar herself, accruing tens of thousands of likes and views.
Responding to Dunbar's speech, one fan wrote: "Amazing. I don't think you know how BRILLIANT you are!"
"Outstanding well deserved in so many ways and more. She will be forever my favourite Scottish legend," a second added.
And a third said: "Go on yerself Karen absolute legend you deserve that so much."
The trailer for Still Wakes the Deep and the game's soundtrack features the Gaelic song Fath Mo Mhulaid A Bhith Ann, performed by Maggie MacInnes, along with the option to enable Gaelic subtitles.
Project director John McCormack said this was an attempt to reflect its “uniquely Scottish story”.
He said: “After listening to 'Fath Mo Mhulaid A Bhith Ann' for the first time, it was clear that the game experience wouldn't be complete without a full translation deeply connected to the history and people of Scotland."
Glasgow-born Alec Newman, best known for playing headmaster Michael Byrne in the BBC series Waterloo Road, along with appearances in Outlander, Shetland and Call The Midwife.
Newman is also a prolific games actor and thanked the makers of Still Wakes the Deep for giving him the role.
"Your attention to detail is phenomenal,” he said.
Adding it was an “inspiration” to him from the moment he first read his part for the game.
Publishers' Secret Mode said they were delighted with the awards.
“We're thrilled for Alec and Karen who played a huge part in bringing this wonderful game to life,” the company's James Schall said.
