Actor Johnny Vegas looks dramatically different as he appears on BBC Breakfast

Johnny Vegas looked completely unrecognisable as he appeared on BBC Breakfast.

The actor came on the show to talk about being diagnosed with ADHD as an adult and the new series of his glamping programme.

The star spoke to hosts Jon Kay and Sally Nugent about the new series of his Channel 4 show Carry On Glamping but fans were distracted by his new look.

Johnny looked very smart in a charcoal grey tweed blazer paired with a black polo shirt.

He added black trousers and brown leather shoes to his outfit, wearing a pair of thick-rimmed glasses and slicking his hair back with gel.

Fans took to Twitter to talk about Johnny's transformation.

One wrote: "Great to see @JohnnyVegasReal on @BBCBreakfast - very funny, but interesting too."

A second said: "He looks great! Loving the jacket," with another adding: "@JohnnyVegasReal looking incredibly sharp on #BBCBreakfast!"

One penned: "Turned on the TV and for the first time in for ever watched a bit of @BBCBreakfast. Why? Because @JohnnyVegasReal was on. What a legend he is."

Johnny went on to talk about his ADHD diagnoses and what that means for him.

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is a condition that includes symptoms such as being restless and having trouble concentrating.

Jon asked the actor: "It's interesting, you're talking about being busy with all this stuff going on in your life, because you constantly like to be active.

Johnny opened up about his diagnoses (BBC)

"We've been talking this morning about adults getting diagnosed with ADHD and I know that's something you've talked about in the past, isn't it?"

Johnny replied: "Yeah, I have. I think it was always kicked around as a notion, but yeah. I'm very careful about things like this and discussing it, but I was diagnosed before Christmas.

"So eventually I sort of bit the bullet and went in, and I've got friends who have been diagnosed. So I'm in the very early stages of working through meds and things like that. It just answers a lot of questions about behavioural issues in the past."

Jon went on ask what difference the diagnoses makes to Johnny.

The comedian explained: "I think it's just... a lot of things make sense. Just that sense of disorganisation and doing basic tasks.

"Everybody has an element of it – it's how strong your filter is, I think. And I don't have a filter at all, and things just become very time consuming."

Johnny said that the diagnoses explained the way his "brain organises itself".

He said: "It's just, I suppose, how your brain organises itself. It helps make sense of a lot of things at school. But I'm only just on the verge of learning about it."
