Renowned actor Ian McKellen is currently on the road to recovery after experiencing a fall during a performance at a theater in London. The incident took place during a showing of 'Player Kings,' a contemporary adaptation of Shakespeare's 'Henry IV' crafted by writer and director Robert Icke.
The producers of the play expressed their gratitude towards the audience and the general public for their outpouring of well wishes following McKellen's fall on Monday night. A statement released by the production team confirmed that after undergoing a scan, the NHS medical team has assured them of McKellen's swift and complete recovery, with the actor reportedly in good spirits.
In light of the situation, the production has opted to cancel the performance scheduled for Tuesday, June 18, to allow McKellen time to rest and recuperate. The producers extended their appreciation to two doctors who were present in the audience and provided immediate assistance and support.
McKellen, who is currently engaged in a 12-week stint performing in the three-hour show at the Noël Coward Theatre, shares the stage with Richard Coyle and Toheeb Jimoh, known for his role in 'Ted Lasso.'
