Early Thursday morning in Yulee, Florida, actor Eric Mabius was arrested for simple battery, as per an obtained arrest record. The incident took place at a Nassau County bar around 2 a.m. local time, where Mabius allegedly knocked two women to the ground during an altercation.
Mabius, known for his roles in Hallmark's 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered' series and as Daniel Meade on 'Ugly Betty,' faces two misdemeanor charges for battery and resisting arrest without violence.
According to the arresting officer, Mabius was involved in an altercation with an intoxicated woman who was bothering patrons at the bar. The situation escalated when Mabius allegedly knocked both the intoxicated woman and another woman to the ground, with witnesses intervening to separate them.

Upon being taken outside the bar by officers, Mabius reportedly became uncooperative, leading to his arrest for resisting without violence. A witness at the scene mentioned that Mabius had slung both women to the ground, prompting his intervention as police arrived.
While the witness declined to press charges for being spit on by the intoxicated woman, the woman allegedly thrown to the ground opted to press charges against both Mabius and the intoxicated individual. Consequently, both Mabius and the intoxicated woman were arrested for simple battery.
The incident has raised concerns among fans and the public, given Mabius' previous work in popular television series. Authorities are continuing to investigate the matter as more details emerge.
