Actor David Krumholtz Saves 150 Children From Set Fire Incident

David Krumholtz guided 150 children to safety during a fire on set.

During the filming of The Santa Clause 2, actor David Krumholtz, known for his role as Bernard the Elf, found himself in a real-life heroic situation on set. A piece of lighting equipment overheated, causing a fire to break out on the two-story set. Fortunately, some of the children on set, numbering around 150, were the first to notice the smoke and alerted Krumholtz.

Remaining calm to avoid alarming the children, Krumholtz swiftly guided them to safety before informing the crew about the fire. His quick thinking and actions helped prevent the fire from spreading further, earning him praise and gratitude from the producers.

The following day, Krumholtz was pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of champagne and a note from the producers in his trailer, thanking him for his bravery. Despite jokingly suggesting that he deserved more than just a bottle of champagne, Krumholtz graciously accepted the gesture.

Reflecting on the experience, Krumholtz shared his initial reluctance to embrace his character, Bernard, from The Santa Clause franchise. However, becoming a parent himself led him to appreciate the qualities of Bernard and eventually reprise his role in the 2022 Disney+ series, The Santa Clauses.

While the incident on set may have been unexpected, it showcased Krumholtz's quick response and concern for the safety of those around him. His actions not only averted a potential disaster but also highlighted the importance of remaining composed in emergency situations.
