Activist Investor Bill Ackman Wants Jamie Dimon to Run for President

As one of the country's most successful and well-known activist investors, Bill Ackman has forged a reputation for thinking outside of the box.

These days his thinking has led him to endorse one of his Wall Street buddies as the right person to be the next President of the U.S. Bill wants Jamie Dimon to run.

DON'T MISS: Billionaire Bill Ackman Posts Passionate Tweet About Jamie Dimon's Presidential Ambitions

"It's a huge loss for us all if Jamie won't run," Ackman said on Twitter this week, quote tweeting a video of Dimon giving a speech at The Economic Club in Washington D.C.

"America has the best hand ever dealt of any country on this planet ever. We have peaceful, wonderful neighbors in Canada and Mexico... we have the best military on the planet, and we will, for as long as we have the best economy," Dimon said.

As a private citizen, Dimon does not have a political party like the Democrats or Republicans tied to his name, but he did give a hint at his political leanings during the speech.

"And if you're a liberal, listen closely to me on that one, because the Chinese would love to have our economy," Dimon said.

Former President Donald Trump was the first non-politician to successfully break down the Wall Street/Washington D.C. barrier to become president, but Dimon doesn't seem to want to walk through that door anytime soon.

In June, Dimon made it clear that he has "no plans" to run for public office and that "he is very happy in his current role."

This may be for the best as people under Ackman's Twitter post expressed skepticism about his capabilities as a politician.
