AC Milan 'ready' to send Chelsea opening Hakim Ziyech transfer bid after impressive World Cup

Chelsea's Hakim Ziyech has helped Morocco reach the World Cup quarter-finals after beating Spain on penalties. The Blues winger has fallen out of favour under Graham Potter as he continues to be linked with a transfer away from Stamford Bridge.

The 29-year-old completed a move to Chelsea back in 2020 but has been unable to replicate his stunning form for Ajax in the Premier League. Ziyech has made just nine appearances for the Blues so far this season and is yet to register a goal or an assist in all competitions, starting just two matches.

Chelsea have been linked with a number of attackers ahead of the January transfer window as Ziyech's time at Stamford Bridge seems to be nearing it's end. The Moroccan winger's performances at the World Cup in Qatar have seen his stock rise with AC Milan amongst the clubs registering an interest in him.

According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Milan are ready to make an opening bid to sign Ziyech from Chelsea on-loan with an option to buy for €15million (£13million). The Rossoneri are long-time admirers of the Morocco international who has been shining in Qatar with his national team.

The report adds that Milan will make a new attempt to sign the Chelsea winger in January. The Italian outfit plan to get Ziyech on-loan with an option to buy which could see the winger leave the Blues after just three years.

The Morocco star is willing to join Milan where he'd get more playing time than at Stamford Bridge and is reportedly open to cutting his £5million salary to sign for the Italian giants. Milan are willing to offer €4million-€4.5million (£3.5million-£4million) per season to secure the 29-year-old's signature on a loan deal for the remainder of the season, with the option to buy him permanently at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.
