Christian Pulisic could face fellow countryman Sergino Dest on Wednesday as Chelsea are set to host AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League.
The Blues forward has been given a fresh start under new head coach Graham Potter and the USMNT captain will hope to kick on with the World Cup now just a month away, starting with an impressive performance against AC Milan.
Potter, who often tweaks his system and personnel depending on the opponent, may look to use Pulisic this week. If he does, it means the Champions League winner could match up against fellow USMNT star Dest.

With Davide Calabria and Alessandro Florenzi both out injured until 2023, Milan boss Stefano Pioli is evaluating the alternatives on the right side of defence. Dest, who is on loan from Barcelona, has struggled at Milan thus far and has not been a regular part of Pioli's plans, but he'll be eager to make an impression if given a chance.
The Blues currently sit bottom of Group E with just one point from their first two games, whilst Milan are top with four points. A win is needed for the west London outfit and it's certainly not out of their reach.
Ex-Brighton boss Potter's arrival came at a good time for Pulisic who was struggling for minutes under Thomas Tuchel. After coming off the bench on the weekend, the 24-year-old set up Conor Gallagher's winning goal at Crystal Palace.
And the newly-appointed boss admitted that he's been impressed by the American's attitude: "I think players go through periods of their careers where they have to suffer a little bit for whatever reason and don't get their game time that they would like and it's part of the job, it's part of the sign up to being a Premier League player. It's not straightforward to be a regular in a top-four team.
"I can only comment on him in terms of how he's been with me. Really positive, he's an intelligent guy, articulate, knows how to express himself. My conversation with him has been good and positive, I'm not going to judge anybody on what has happened in the past, I'm going to make my own mind up. Football hopefully decides."
