'Absolutely yes': Internet reacts to Chris Evans named Sexiest Man Alive

People magazine has crowned the actor Chris Evans as the Sexiest Man Alive, and people on social media tend to agree.

The unveiling was made on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, with the aid of John Oliver and Dwayne Johnson.

In a segment, Oliver sat in the show’s audience, and Colbert announced the winner from two finalists - Oliver and Evans - with Colbert, “Hollywood movie star and incandescent supernova of hotness, Chris Evans!”

The former Captain America star, 41, who couldn’t appear on the show, was instead congratulated in a video from the set of their movie, Red One, by Johnson, who was the 2016 Sexiest Man cover star.

In the video, Evans said: “It means a lot, coming from a former Sexiest Man Alive.”

Before the video closed, Johnson asked his co-star to say something “sexy” into the camera.

In response, Evans said: “Go vote tomorrow.”

Evans follows fellow Marvel alumnus Paul Rudd on the Sexiest Man Alive mantel. Other winners include Mel Gibson, John F Kennedy Jr, and Sean Connery.

One said: “I can’t believe that today chris evans talked about politics and later he is considered the sexiest man alive the perfect balance”

Others weren’t so convinced: “Making Chris Evans the sexiest man alive in 2022???? What’s next, resurrecting Lou Bega for Mambo No. 6???”

One fan summed it up: “CHRIS EVANS?? SEXIEST MAN ALIVE??? ABSOLUTELY YES!!!!”
