'Absolutely heartbroken' owners have announced their pop-up kitchen will be closing next week. Stop Ya Beefin, which serves up delicious vegan pies and doughnuts, has been running out of the Golden Lion on Gloucester Road.
Sadly, due to the 'rise in costs' they are no longer making enough money to keep the kitchen open. Posting on Facebook, they said: "It’s become clear that we can’t keep things running the way they currently are. With the constant rise in costs to run a kitchen, we are just not seeing the numbers we need for the kitchen to be open as much as it is for this to be a sustainable business decision.

"So I’m absolutely heartbroken to say this will be the last two weeks of SYB operating in this pub the way it currently is."
Owners are still 'in talks' to decide what will happen to their company moving forward. They added: "We will still be at all markets booked in for May and at Golden Lion until the last pub service on Sunday, May 28."
Businesses across the city are struggling with soaring food prices amid the cost of living crisis.
SYB said: "As much as it’s impossible to not get imposter syndrome in situations like this & feel like it’s my business that is the problem, I’ve been told it’s not. Unfortunately it’s the climate, we are not the only business suffering right now.
"The reality is 57% of small businesses will close this year. The Golden Lion are not replacing us, they are making changes to the way they operate the kitchen which makes sense to their business. This is still in talks but will most likely be pop-ups here and there just not every week. If so they have made it clear we will be very much a part of this if we desire.
"We have had the best time in this pub and want to be clear that we totally understand the pubs reasons and love every single person in this place and are so thankful for everything."
The news comes as a community pub in Kingswood has closed suddenly just 18 months after a huge six-figure transformation. The parent company of The Cossham Arms on Charlton Road has said it is working hard to reopen the pub as soon as possible.
Formerly The Warwick Arms, it has been a pub for more than 100 years and has always been at the heart of the community. The building - which is owned by Chester-based Admiral Taverns - was completely gutted in 2021 and reopened under the new name following a £110,000 investment.
