Half of the Australian adult population is expected to have a ticket in a lottery draw worth $150 million.
Thursday's Powerball draw could become the biggest lottery win in the nation's history.
It's the largest haul on offer, second to a $160 million Powerball Jackpot in 2022, which was shared between three people.
About one in two Australian adults are expected to have a ticket, according to The Lott spokesperson, James Eddy.
"We're anticipating a rush online and within licensed retail outlets in the lead-up to the draw," he said. "We're often asked for our advice and our biggest tip to lottery players vying for a chance to win this mammoth prize is to get in early and don't leave purchasing your entry until the last minute."
There were 20 division-one Powerball winners in 2023 and they shared a combined $552 million, while more than $3.76 billion was awarded across all games at The Lott.
The lottery company is encouraging ticketholders to register a playing card or online account so winners can be contacted immediately.
"If you do see your phone light up with an incoming call on Thursday night, don't ignore it," Mr Eddy said.
"It could be us calling with some life-changing news." If the division-one is not won, the prize money jackpots again the following week.
