ABERDEEN are in line for a tasty windfall this weekend ahead of the summer transfer window.
Nottingham Forest's win in Sunday's Championship play-off final means the Dons will reportedly pocket up to £1million.
The Scottish Sun say that this is due to a Premier League promotion clause inserted into the deal that saw Scott McKenna leave Pittodrie for the City Ground in 2020.
Forest's win sees the former European champions return to the Premier League for the first time since 1999.
McKenna has played a key role in Steve Cooper's side's push for promotion this term.
He played 45 of their 46 games in the regular season.
Aberdeen sold McKenna for an initial £3million nearly two-years-ago.
But the value of that deal reportedly soared due to the add-ons inserted in the deal by Aberdeen's hierarchy.
McKenna will link up with Steve Clarke’s squad for Scotland’s play-off clash with Ukraine next week.
