An Aberdeen fan was in the money on Monday night after mistakenly backing Darvel to beat the Dons.
The punter scooped £843 after his side suffered the biggest Scottish Cup shock in history at the hands of minnows Darvel.
The disastrous defeat leaves Jim Goodwin a dead man walking in the Granite City with raging punters letting the Irishman and his flops have it immediately after their 1-0 defeat to the West of Scotland Premier League side. But one Dons punter at least secured a financial cushion after adding the 33/1 shots to his favourites coupon which landed him a significant profit, reports The Daily Record.

The bettor – posting to popular Aberdeen fan group The Northern Light – said: "I feel a bit foolish regarding my last post as I’ve just checked my account and it seems I’ve mistakenly backed Darvel. So I’m either a tenner down and out the Cup or I’m going to have the time of my life in Private Eyes."
And his night out in Aberdeen is very much on as he cashed in despite his team's horror on the pitch. It's the first time since 1967 a team outwith the professional league structure has knocked out a top flight side. An ashen-faced Goodwin offered his apologies but words won't likely be enough for irate supporters who believe change in the dugout is now the only option.
Goodwin expects talks with Dave Cormack and the Aberdeen board as the chairman was in attendance to watch his side come apart at the seams against a Darvel side who were well worth their glory night.
