The Scotland cap is set for a medical at Legia Warsaw, according to a report.
Polish football expert Ryan Hubbard has taken to Twitter to share the details of the deal.
The Dons will seemingly earn €500,000 from the deal.
Legia want the former Rangers defender as a replacement for Mateusz Wieteska.
Hubbard wrote: "Aberdeen defender David Bates will undergo a medical at Legia Warsaw today, ahead of a move to the club. Legia will reportedly pay around half-a-million Euros for the Scotsman, who will be a replacement for Mateusz Wieteska."
