Motherwell boss Steven Hammell says he takes responsibility for his side not being good enough to take anything from managerless Aberdeen - after going 11 games without a Premiership win.
The Steelmen suffered a third straight defeat in the top flight as a first half-strike from Duk just before the half-time whistle and a second-half double from Bojan Miovski ensured Kevin van Veen's second half penalty for 'Well was just a consolation.
It was a first win for caretaker boss Barry Robson and ended the Dons' run of five consecutive defeats in all competitions.
Hammell's men are toiling at the foot of the table and are joint bottom of the standings with Dundee United, sitting 11th thanks to a superior goal difference.
Nine new players have been brought in at Fir Park during the January transfer window to try and turn their fortunes around, but Hammell was left ruing individual errors after another lacklustre display, and says he holds his hands up for another poor result.
He said: "It’s disappointing. We came with a change of shape and tried to match up as best we could because we’ve been quite vulnerable at the start of games defensively.
“If we get to half-time at 0-0 it’s a different game, but we conceded at a vulnerable time and of course goals change games.
“Even at the end we put a lot of forward players on without testing the goalkeeper enough.
"We did a bit of research on the goalkeeper and didn’t see him playing a lot, and with so many forwards we didn’t test him enough.
“A couple of goals that we lose are cheap goals.
"It was poor decision-making in big moments in the game. We weren’t strong enough or good enough and that ultimately falls to me, I’ll take responsibility for that.”
Motherwell's miserable run is extending into February with the club last tasting victory in October last year, while at home they haven't enjoyed a triumph since August.
Cup competitions is where they have managed to pick up wins and they will be hoping for a morale-boosting success when they travel to Raith Rovers in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup next Saturday.
They return to league business on February 15 when they play St Mirren in a rearranged clash.
