Rangers suffered only their second league defeat under Michael Beale in a misfire against Aberdeen.
It was a less-than-ideal preparation for Rangers as they have Celtic up next in the Scottish Cup semi-final in what is a huge game for Beale. Alfredo Morelos went closest in the opening stages when his volley on the turn was cleared off the line before Fashion Sakala set himself free with a run at goal but could only fire straight at the Dons keeper. Rangers threatened more and more as the half wore on but Aberdeen did carry a threat.
The second half brought more back and forth before on-loan Celtic man Liam Scales produced a worldy of a goal to open the scoring, with the ball sailing over Allan McGregor and in to the top corner from 30 yards or more. It went from bad to worse for Michael Beale's side when Bojan Miovski fired a diving header at the back post that was proved to be onside as Aberdeen moved in to top gear. It means the Dons are added to the list of two-strong teams to beat Rangers since Beale was appointed.

Major misfire
Michael Beale himself conceded the chance of a major league title comeback was very unlikely.
But when the rare opportunity to cut the gap back on Celtic came their way, Rangers couldn't take it.
Two goals in quick succession had Barry Robson's electric side putting Beale's to the sword.
It means the gap has been extended to 13 points and allowing Celtic to potentially accelerate their party date.
Delightful Dons get revenge
Hats off to Barry Robson and Aberdeen who will be flying after today's result.
The Dons last triumphed over Rangers at home back in 2016. An incredible stat heading in to the game.
And with how the late collapse came last time out Aberdeen will feel that little bit sweeter.
Liam Scales and Bojan Miovski the heroes this time and the Dons will have some momentum now heading in to the split.
Celtic up next
It's only the derby next weekend for Rangers as they look to get over the nightmare of Pittodrie.
A huge chance for Beale's men to get revenge - as he is winless against Ange Postecoglou this season.
If not, Celtic will fancy the chance at a Treble and that is a scenario the Light Blues want to avoid.
Connor Goldson and Ryan Kent are set to be back in action in a move that will be a boost to Rangers' hopes.
Hampden again for a place in the Scottish Cup final, it doesn't get much bigger.
