Abbie Chatfield & Kyle Sandilands Hashed Out Their Two-Year Beef Live On-Air In Chaotic Segment

It appears the Australian airwaves are finally at peace. After two years, shock jock Kyle Sandilands finally hashed out his beef with entertainment powerhouse Abbie Chatfield after a rogue interview on radio, where their feud first kicked off in 2022.

Oh me, oh my. My, my, my. There’s a lot to unpack here but at least there’s some kind of light at the end of the tunnel, amirite?

To give you a bit of context behind the burning drama between Sandilands and Chatfield, the pair have been embroiled in a bitter feud following Sandilands’ interview with Yung Gravy in 2022.

You see, during the interview — which Sandilands conducted alongside podcaster and former Bachelor contestant Brittany Hockley — the shock jock made some slut-shamey comments towards the FBoy Island host after the rapper said he had a relationship blossoming with Chatfield.

Chatfield later called out Sandilands and Hockley for their behaviour, which then quickly snowballed into a giant online beef that included a bunch of other reality TV folk like Laura Byrne, Domenica Calarco and Megan Marx. Honestly, you had to be there to see it, it was TEA.

Now, in 2024, it appears that Sandilands and Chatfield have put aside their differences and made up after two years of beef upon beef.

On Wednesday, Sandilands had Adam Hyde — Chatfield’s boyfriend — on the Kyle and Jackie O show for a cheeky interview when the topic of his feud with Chatfield was brought up.

“I don’t think she’s a fan of mine which — there’s been some sort of error,” Sandilands began, slowly alluding to the 2022 interview that kicked off the radio war.

“There’s been confusion, there’s been misunderstanding. ‘Cos I rated her when she was at over at the other joint doing the radio I was like this is a bad-ass bitch.”

Sandilands then went on to briefly explain the beef, mentioning the whole Yung Gravy interview and the internet kerfuffle. Sandilands’ co-host Jackie O then asked Hyde if he could call up Chatfield, to which he agreed and said “an apology would help.”

Finally, Chatfield jumped on the KIIS106.5 airwaves where she explains that she hated the comments thrown about her during that interview with the US rapper.

“I didn’t think you didn’t like me, Kyle. I’m not sure that you really think about me but I just didn’t like the way you and Brittany spoke about me in a kind of slut shaming way,” Chatfield shared, to which Sandilands replied that he would “never shame a slut ever”.

Chatfield then went in on the shock jock, explaining why she called him and Hockley out for their interview and why she talked about it on the It’s A Lot podcast.

“Well, I just didn’t like the way you both spoke about me, maybe two years ago now. Like I said, I didn’t think that you were even thinking about me. I think you just say things all the time, Kyle. And it has damaging effects to people that are listening. I think that’s the issue,” the former Bachie contestant shared.

Sandilands continued to emphasise that he liked Abbie, respected her and that his words at the time were not supposed to be hurtful to which she replied that while she understands his intentions were not malicious, there was a “huge implication of slut-shaming” during the 2022 interview.

“If you intended a different way, that’s fine Kyle, but the whole conversation around it with you and Britt made me really upset and really uncomfortable,” Chatfield added before revealing that Yung Gravy messaged her after the interview, describing his stint on the Kyle and Jackie O show as “really weird” and “uncomfortable”.

Elsewhere in the rogue interview, Sandilands then accused Chatfield of carrying on about the 2022 interview on her podcast, to which she fired back: “I spoke about it because my fear is that people listening will start to speak about other women that way and not understand why that’s wrong.”

But after hashing that out, Sandilands finally attempted to apologise for the kerfuffle. But the apology was honestly subpar IMO.

After drafting an apology, from CHATFIELD’S WORDS I might add, here’s what Sandilands had to say.

“I’m sorry that if my harsh words implied that you were — slut-shaming — but nevertheless, regardless of whether I meant it or didn’t or didn’t, say it your way or whatever, if it’s offended you, I’m sorry,” Sandilands shared, to which Chatfield thanked the shock jock for.

AHHH, calm for now. But knowing Sandilands, it won’t be long before Chatfield will have to call him out for some ‘ucked shit he said on the Aussie airwaves.

Only a question of “when” and not “if”, TBH.
