A team of urban explorers have ventured deep into the heart of Glasgow's decaying Botanic Gardens Station.
In a YouTube upload from urban exploration channel Escapade, viewers are taken down into the forgotten Kelvinside terminal, which permanently closed to passengers in February 1939.
Keen to conceal the manner in which they were able to gain entry to the site, YouTuber Dale John and his friends capture footage around the graffiti-covered former platforms before delving deep into the station's pitch black tunnel.

Clutching their torches and dodging everything from holes in the ground to the remains of railway sleepers, the team carefully navigate their way from one end of the eerie tunnel to the other until they can go no further.
During the video, Dale notes that the site was cleared of decades worth of debris and vegetation when it was used as a filming location for the unreleased Batgirl superhero movie, which was controversially cancelled in August 2022.
Earlier this year, actor Brendan Fraser, who had been cast as a villain in the axed DC Comics production, admitted Gotham City had never looked better as Glasgow, with the urban decay prevalent at sites such as the Botanic Gardens station providing the perfect backdrops for the movie.
Speaking to Glasgow Live, urban explorer, Dale John, who has been steadily building up a following over the past few years, said: "It’s always good to see the “hidden history” and unseen places. It was surreal being below the city while everyone’s going about their business.
"I’ve been exploring for around four years now. A friend of mine gave me a heads up about the tunnel so we went to check it out. I’m glad I got to see it before it’s covered up forever or destroyed like most of the UK’s history."

In January 2022, Glasgow MSP Paul Sweeney called for the city to look into reopening the moth-balled Botanic Garden station as a tourist attraction once filming of the Batgirl movie had been completed. To date, however, there looks to have been no movement on that particular front.
As a part of the Glasgow Central Railway, the Botanic Garden Station opened on August 10, 1896. The main station building was on ground level with the platforms situated underground, beneath the botanical gardens.
The station was formally closed to passengers on February 6, 1939, with the line scrapped permanently on October 5, 1964.
