Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been named the world’s most handsome man according to a study using ancient Greek beauty standards.
The facial features of the British star tipped by some to be the next James Bond were found to be 93.04 percent aligned with the Golden Ratio - a mathematical equation devised by the Greeks in an attempt to measure beauty.
Dr Julian De Silva, from the Centre for Advanced Facial Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery in London, used the Golden Ratio to identify the most attractive faces.
This ratio, which can be applied to various aspects of design, was famously used by Leonardo Da Vinci in his Vitruvian Man to depict the ideal human form.
The concept is that the closer the proportions of a face or body are to the number 1.618 (Phi), the more aesthetically pleasing they appear.
According to Dr De Silva’s findings, the British star’s combined measurements closely match the classical Greek ideal of perfection - and would make him the most handsome James Bond in the history of the role, scoring higher than Daniel Craig, Sean Connery and all the other stars rumoured to play the secret service agent.
Dr De Silva said: “Aaron was the clear winner when all elements of the face were measured for physical perfection.”
According to the medic, what makes Taylor-Johnson so handsome is the overall shape of his face, which scored 99.2 per cent.
However, almost all of his features also scored highly: “What makes Aaron so exceptional is the overall shape of his face, which, with a score of 99.2%, is only 0.8% off being perfect. The width and length of his nose is almost perfect, too, at 98.8%. He also has a beautifully sculpted chin which scored well at 95%.
“All his scores were really strong except for his eye spacing at 89%, the gap between his nose and lip (89.6%) and his lips (86%).”
He added: “Aaron’s 93.04% score would easily make him the most handsome James Bond in the history if he does land the role as expected.
“Aaron is well ahead of Sean Connery, in second place with 89.2%, with Roger Moore in third on 88.8% and Daniel Craig in last place - behind George Lazenby - on 84.2%.”
Emily In Paris star Lucien Laviscount, came in second place, with a score of 92.41 per cent while Paul Mescal, star of Gladiator II, ranked third on the list of most handsome men with a score of 92.38 per cent, followed by Robert Pattinson (92.15 per cent) and Jack Lowden (90.33 per cent).
Several older stars also made the top 10, with George Clooney earning an impressive 89.9 per cent, securing him sixth place.
He shared: “George Clooney is easily the oldest star on the list but he remains a stunningly attractive man with classical features in great proportion.
“There has been a loss of volume in his face and, inevitably, some sagging around the eyes.
“To still make the top ten at 63 is remarkable and is testament to his incredible natural good looks.”
Meanwhile, Idris Elba came ninth on top 10, whose face scored 87.94 per cent.
The doctor shared: “At 52, Idris is the third oldest man on the list but he is showing few signs of ageing and is in wonderful shape.
"He had the highest mark for his eye spacing with 98.9%. His beautifully sculpted chin missed the top spot by a whisker with a score of 98.5% but he was marked down due to the shape of his nose.”
