Aaron Rodgers slammed in brutal Davante Adams trade verdict as leadership questioned

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been called out for being a 'terrible leader' following his comments criticising his team-mates on Wednesday.

Rodgers is a regular feature on the Pat McAfee Show, and recently called out team-mates for not playing well, and even suggested that some should be dropped. The Packers have lost their last three matches, and have completely trailed off after beating the New England Patriots on October 2.

Despite his harsh comments, Rodgers later confirmed that he'd not been confronted by any of his fellow players following his comments, and even claimed that many shared his views. But that still hasn't stopped Shannon Sharpe from ranting about the quarterback, as he questioned his leadership skills.

"They didn't confront you? Well, you didn't confront them either, you spouted it out to the media instead of going up to them and talking," Sharpe said on Undisputed. "Now I see why Davante left. Turned down more money not to come back with you (Rodgers). You're a terrible leader, you're not a good leader.

"Just because you're a great player does not make you a great team-mate. When you're playing good, you can yell and scream and call people out. But when you're not playing well, people look at you sideways."

Rodgers previously said that his team-mates that are making too many mistakes shouldn't be playing. And he followed up with: "Gotta start cutting some reps. And maybe guys who aren't playing, give them a chance."

And Rodgers defended his earlier comments by saying that no one had a problem with him behind closed doors. "If one of those guys has a problem with it, I'm right here, and I'd love to have a conversation.

"I enjoy those conversations. I enjoy any type of conflict like that because I know the resolution on the other side is going to make us a better unit, a better friendship, a better cohesion on the field.

"But nobody's come to me and said, 'I've got a problem with what you said'. I think everybody knows, Matt included, that everything's got to take a little uptick, get a little better."

The Packers have been struggling offensively, especially in the wake of Adams' departure as he traded to the Las Vegas Raiders. But things aren't going to get any easier, as they face Super Bowl favourites Buffalo Bills on Sunday, and a loss could set them back to 3-5.
