Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers says he consulted with podcaster Joe Rogan after developing Covid-19 this week - and has been taking Ivermectin to battle the infection.
After testing positive for Covid, Rodgers made his first public comments on Friday, explaining why he informed the media in August that he was “immunized” when he is not vaccinated.
According to NFL protocol, Rodgers will not play in Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs and will not be able to visit the team facility for the next ten days.
On the Pat McAfee Show, he addressed the controversy and criticism, claiming he is a “critical thinker” while making various talking points about making “choices” for yourself.
“I am somebody who’s a critical thinker,” he said. “I believe strongly in bodily autonomy and the ability to make choices for your body.”

Rodgers also quoted Martin Luther King Jr and said, “The great MLK said, ‘You have a moral obligation to object to unjust rules and rules that make no sense.’”
When consulting Rogan, who recently had Covid, Rodgers noted that he began doing the things he recommended in his “podcasts and on the phone.”
“I’ve been taking monoclonal antibodies, Ivermectin, zinc, vitamin C and C, and HCQ.”
Ivermectin is a medication that is used to treat threadworms, roundworms, and other parasitic infections. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved that drug for use in combating Covid.
Rodgers stated that he started experiencing Covid symptoms on Tuesday, tested positive for the virus on Wednesday, and felt ill on Thursday.

Rodgers said he “didn’t lie” and that when he claimed he was “immunized,” he meant he had taken natural efforts to assist improve his immune system.
Rodgers explained that he is allergic to the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines and that he didn’t want the Johnson & Johnson vaccine because of reported adverse effects.
Despite this, he said that he is not “anti-vax” and that he wanted to “make the best choice” for his body.
Rodgers further said he has been tested daily under the NFL protocol and that he was “in the crosshairs of the woke mob right now.”
“So, before my final nail gets put in my cancel culture casket, I’d like to set the record straight on so many of the blatant lies out there. I tested for Covid over 300 times before testing for possible positive and I probably got it from a vaccinated player,” he said.
Regardless, Rodgers stated that he was looking forward to his backup Jordan Love playing against the Chiefs and that he had spoken with him about the game on Sunday.
