Once upon a time, Aaron Rodgers used to profess that he’d help the Green Bay Packers get better in the offseason seemingly every year. He’d use his magical MVP powers to convince prospective good NFL players that they should come spend six months in the middle of nowhere in Wisconsin to catch passes from him and fall victim to his obsessive narcissistic critique.
This, of course, rarely worked.
It’s also not clear whether Rodgers ever actually tried anything beyond surrounding himself with his best friends. So, the Packers and Rodgers were usually stuck playing the hand they were dealt after a disappointing playoff loss (which was the norm for over a decade after lucking their way to one Super Bowl win). As Rodgers turns his eyes to 2024 with the New York Jets after his Achilles injury, it looks like he’s already playing some of the hits.
With the Jets trying to recover from another disaster season, the 40-year-old professed that he would help Gang Green recruit free agents because he’s a “good recruiter.” But crucially, only if they want to. I can’t help but laugh at this sentiment. Does he have a script or something?

I would be willing to bet good money the Jets are largely going to bring back the same exact team in 2024. And it’s so funny that Rodgers just has to say something like this to make it seem otherwise and that he’s being helpful to the organization he’s using like a puppet.
He just can’t help himself, can he?
