Aaron Rodgers sent a brutal response to ESPN's lead NFL insider Adam Schefter this week over his ongoing trade decision drama.
Rodgers had the opportunity to speak to the New York Jets who were interested in trading for him, after he felt the Green Bay Packers would be interested in moving him, and has since stated that he wants to be traded to the team.
Earlier this week, ESPN's Dianna Russini reported that Rodgers had a four-man wish-list of who he'd like to see join the team - one who the Jets have since signed. Russini tweeted: "Aaron Rodgers has provided the NY Jets with a wish-list of free agents he would like them to target and acquire, per sources. It includes Randall Cobb, Allen Lazard, Marcedes Lewis and ... Odell Beckham Jr."
On the McAfee show, Rodgers rubbished that report, and admitted that fellow ESPN reporter Schefter text him to ask whether or not it was true.
Speaking on the Pat McAfee podcast, Rodgers said: "Ask Schefter what I text him when he somehow got my number... lose my number.
"I didn't respond to Dianna Russini. I will speak for myself. I am sure there will be people who have their sources, but from what I see is they say I told the Jets to sign these people... that is not the reality. That is ridiculous, it is so stupid."
While Rodgers was giving that interview, Schefter posted a screenshot of the text that Rodgers sent to him. When becoming aware that Schefter had tweeted, Rodgers added: "I can do that too, if he wants to put my text out there. He doesn't want that, does he."
Rodgers broke his silence on his NFL future on Wednesday when he admitted that he does want to be traded to the New York Jets after spending 18 years with the Green Bay Packers.
Rumbles of Rodgers leaving the Packers have been regular since the end of the 2022 season, with the team struggling throughout the campaign and likely in need of rebuilding their roster.
The Packers already have a quarterback to kickstart that in 2020 first round pick Jordan Love, and Rodgers admitted that he felt the team is ready to move on starting him.
