Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers took to Instagram Wednesday to share his first public comments since tearing his Achilles Monday night against the Buffalo Bills, ending his season after just four plays.
Rodgers wanted to share his thanks and appreciation for all the support since his injury.
Buy Jets Tickets“Thank you to every person that has reached out, called, texted, DM’d, connected through a friend, etc. It has meant a ton to me, and I’ll try and get back to all of you soon,” Rodgers wrote. “I’m completely heartbroken and moving through all of the emotions, but deeply touched and humbled by the support and love.
“Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I begin the healing process today. The night is darkest before the dawn. And I shall rise yet again. Proud of my guys, 1-0.”
Rodgers never got a chance to get going in his first season in New York and now faces a long recovery from the injury. He’ll be 40 years old coming off an Achilles tear. But it’s really hard to see him ending his run like this. Like Rodgers said, he’ll rise again and head coach Robert Saleh said he’d be shocked if Rodgers walked away like this.
