Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers made it clear not long after joining the Jets that this wasn’t going to be a one-year experiment in New York, even before suffering the Achilles injury in Week 1. Now, he’s sounding like a quarterback who wants to play a few more years, despite being a 40-year-old coming off an Achilles injury.
Rodgers recently appeared on the “Look Into It Podcast with Eddie Bravo” and discussed how much longer he believes he can play in the NFL.
“I got back on the practice field late in the season and couldn’t get to a top speed sprinting, but really been in a good place rehab-wise, from the start, and feeling really good,” Rodgers told Bravo, via CBS Sports’ John Breech. “I’m hopeful I can play two or three or four more years, but you need to have some good fortune in there to.”

Rodgers is locked in for 2024 while 2025 includes an option for $35 million. If he plays out this contract, he’ll play until he’s 42 years old. He has said previously he would like to play at least two more years. Time will tell if he makes it to three or even four more. For now, he’s hoping to at least play this season for the Jets after leaving after just four snaps in his Jets’ debut.
