Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers reportedly gave the Jets a list of four key players he wanted the team to target and sign as he mulls whether to play for the team in 2023.
Those include Green Bay teammates Randall Cobb, Allen Lazard, Marcedes Lewis as well as Odell Beckham Jr., per ESPN’s Dianna Russini. Lazard has reportedly been contacted by New York, while Cobb and Lewis have also drawn interest from the team, according to reports from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and ESPN’s Adam Schefter, respectively.
As for Beckham, this is the first notable time in which his name has been associated with the Jets. He spent the entire 2022 season as a free agent after he tore his ACL during the Rams’ Super Bowl LVI win. Towards the end of the ’22 season, Beckham was in contact with the Bills, Giants and Cowboys, though it is unknown at this time where he stands with those teams. New York did attend Beckham’s workout in Arizona on Friday, according to CBS’s Jonathan Jones.
The quarterback still hasn’t expressed when he plans to announce his decision on where he’ll play in the 2023 season. The league year officially starts on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET, making it very possible his choice could come soon.
