Aaron Rodgers Has Best Advice for Jimmy Garoppolo About Davante Adams

If there’s any single player who’s in position to speak on the talent of Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams, it’s Aaron Rodgers. After all, the two enjoyed eight successful seasons as teammates with the Packers.

The current Jets quarterback did just that during Tuesday’s appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, offering some advice to fellow signal-caller Jimmy Garoppolo after the star wide receiver had a relatively quiet game Monday night against Green Bay.

Following a game in which Adams had a season-low four targets (resulting in four catches for 45 yards), Rodgers suggested Garoppolo needs to keep feeding his top wide receiver, stating that he’s “always open.”

“Davante is always open. That’s the facts,” Rodgers stated. “He’s got an incredible skill set. He’s got the range. He’s got ball skills. He can create separation. He’s the best in the league at late hands. So you’ve just got to stick with him.”

Rodgers also pointed out how tough it had to be on Adams to have just four targets against his former team.

“I love Davante. He’s still a dear friend of mine,” Rodgers said. “I thought he handled everything really, really well, because that game meant a lot to him. Going back against your former team. Four targets. That ain’t it.”

Although the Raiders pulled out a 17-13 win over Green Bay, it wasn’t easy or pretty. Both teams had fewer than 300 yards of offense, with the Raiders wrapping up the night with 183 passing yards. Jakobi Meyers had seven catches for 75 yards and one touchdown to lead the Raiders in receiving.
