Aaron Rodgers Filmed Throwing in Return to Jets Practice After Achilles Injury

Just two and a half months ago, it looked like Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers's season was over.

On Sept. 11, Rodgers tore his Achilles mere snaps into New York’s eventual 22–16 overtime win over the Bills. The Jets’ situation looked bleak, and the team has struggled mightily ever since to the tune of a 4–7 record.

However, New York’s fans received a glimmer of hope Wednesday when the team opened the 21-day window in which Rodgers can practice without occupying a roster spot. Furthering optimism was Rodgers’s return to practice, during which a few tentative throws were recorded in tantalizing footage by Jets reporters.

ESPN’s Rich Cimini and WNBC-TV’s Bruce Beck shot and posted videos of Rodgers throwing the ball in simple, repetitive fashion—including tentative attempts at dropping back.

With six contests remaining this season, the Jets are two games out of the AFC’s final playoff spot. But they’re also currently jammed behind every team in the conference except the woeful Patriots.

In his most recent full season with the Packers, Rodgers threw 26 touchdowns against 12 interceptions.
