Aaron Ramsey tells Man Utd what kind of owner they'd be getting with Sir Jim Ratcliffe

Aaron Ramsey insists Manchester United’s potential new owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to take Nice “to the top”.

United fan Ratcliffe, the owner of the Ineos chemical company, bought Nice in 2019 for £88million. He has since attempted to buy Chelsea last year and is in the running for ownership of United.

But Wales midfielder Ramsey, who joined Nice in August 2022, thinks the French club are going places under Ratcliffe. He also praised new boss Didier Digard who has the side on a 13-game unbeaten run in Ligue 1 and the Europa Conference League since arriving in January after the World Cup.

Ramsey, 32, said: “The owner is very passionate and very invested into Nice and wants to take Nice all the way up to the top. It's a great project to be a part of.

"It just feels like a family-orientated club. I'm really enjoying my football at the moment, we had a change after the World Cup with the management and they've hit the ground running and settled in really well.

“The players have responded well to their instructions. We're unbeaten since I've returned. It's been really enjoyable. there's worse places in the world to be playing.”

Ratcliffe visited Old Trafford and side's training base at Carrington on Friday as he received a presentation on how the sale of the club would proceed. Along with other investors, Ratcliffe met boss Erik ten Hag ahead of United's win over Fulham.

But Ten Hag played down the encounter and suggested it was very civil. "I just met them and shook hands, but I am focused on the game [against Fulham ]. Others in the club are dealing with potential investors," he said.

Ratcliffe's visit came just one day after Sheikh Jassim's representatives also made the same trip. The Qatari investors descended on Old Trafford on Thursday and are currently considered as the favourite of the bidders to take over next.

And it was further reported on Monday that Sheikh Jassim will make a second bid for the club by close of play Wednesday. According to Sky Sports, Sheikh Jassim's team have been working hard across the weekend, and will continue to do so Monday and Tuesday before launching a second offer Wednesday.

The second bid will no doubt eclipse his first offer of £4.5billion with the Glazers holding out for an astonishing £6bn. Sheikh Jassim has promised to wipe all debt from the club while also invest in the club's infrastructure.

Any further offer from Sheikh Jassim will force Ratcliffe's hand with the Billionaire Brit certain to lose out should he not increase his bid also. But by appearing in person last week, Ratcliffe has shown the seriousness in which he is treating his approach.
