Aaron Ramsey signs Juventus 'contract termination' as former Rangers star targeted in brutal prank

Aaron Ramsey signed his own Juventus ‘contract termination’ by mistake after being caught out by prankster fans.

The former Rangers loanee is back in Turin for pre-season training with the Old Lady after an underwhelming spell at Ibrox. The Welsh star struggled for consistent fitness after arriving on deadline day back in January. And his time in blue ended in heartache after the ex-Arsenal star missed the decisive penalty shoot-out in the Europa League final. Ramsey was the only Gers player to miss from 12 yards after a 1-1 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt in Seville.

Juve had been exploring the possibility of terminating Ramsey’s contract to save on eye-watering wages. He still has a year left to run on his deal, but joking fans tried to speed his exit process up. In a video shared online, Ramsey was shown signing autographs outside the club's training ground. But when scrawling his signature in autopilot mode for waiting supporters, he came a cropper when putting pen to paper on one sheet that read ‘rescissione contrattuale,’ which translates to ‘contract termination’ in English.

Should no-one take Ramsey off Juve’s hands, then it’s expected he’ll depart the club next summer on a free transfer. The 31-year-old has made 70 appearances for the Bianconeri since arriving from the Gunners in 2019, scoring six goals.

Speaking last summer, Ramsey described his situation at Juve as “difficult.” He said: “The way things have gone is not helping me personally.

“I know what I can do and with the right management I can stay fit for a long period of time and play a lot of games. I still feel good given the opportunity and managed correctly. It has been frustrating that I have picked up these little injuries which have cost me a lot of games.

“I would like to see myself playing more and be out there more. The amount of minutes I have played, it has been difficult. It has been a bit of a frustrating time.”
