Aaron Ramsey's Rangers woe hits headlines in Italy as history repeating itself makes life 'very hard' for Juventus

The future of Aaron Ramsey is back in the headlines in Italy with the Juventus midfielder destined to leave Turin one way or another.

His loan to Rangers hasn't gone to plan so far, with the same injury issues which have plagued his spell in Serie A continuing in Glasgow.

The Wales international midfielder has managed only one start for the Premiership champions - a Scottish Cup stroll against League Two Annan - since his dramatic transfer deadline day arrival in January.

It's been a frustrating watch for a Rangers support initially left giddy by the prospect of a world renowned star arriving from one of Europe's elite clubs.

Ramsey was back on the bench for the weekend win over Aberdeen and whether he makes a telling contribution between now and the end of the campaign remains to be seen.

But what seems certain is that Juve are set on engineering a permanent departure for the 31-year-old this summer.

Tuttosport claim his eventual destination is increasingly unlikely to be Rangers, suggesting Giovanni van Bronckhorst hasn't been convinced by the former Arsenal star amid his continued unavailability.

They state a permanent move does not look likely at this stage, which is being reported as making life hard for Juventus, who had hoped he would be a success at Ibrox.

The report highlights Ramsey's lack of minutes and concedes there's been a considerable element of bad luck involved.

Before Ramsey returned to the bench at the weekend, the Dutch boss' last update was to say there was "no clear timeline" for his return to the fold.

And the midfielder then watched on as Van Bronckhorst turned to his bench four times without giving him the nod.

The situation is becoming reflective of Ramsey's last few months in Italy.

After making two appearances for Wales in October, he did not appear again for Juve with manager Max Allegri repeatedly stating Ramsey was not ready.

With the season hurtling towards a breathless conclusion, opportunities to bring him up to speed will be few and far between.

And that's a scenario that suits neither Rangers, Juventus nor Ramsey himself.
