Aaron Ramsey 'in talks' with former club after difficult spell in career

Aaron Ramsey is in talks with Cardiff over a potential return to his boyhood club.

The Sun reports that the former Rangers player could be set to go back to where it all began for the Welshman.

The 32-year-old is a free agent having turned down the opportunity to stay on at Ligue 1 side Nice.

The ex-Arsenal midfielder joined the French outfit after a short loan spell at Ibrox last year.

Ramsey recently spoke of returning to Cardiff, admitting he would love to rejoin the club where he started his career.

And after a difficult spell in the last few years for him, it seems that could be the next step.

The Championship side are keen to strike a deal with Ramsey, but other clubs are also poised to make a move.

The player has stated that his next move will be centered around his family though, so that could place Cardiff in pole position for his signature.

Bluebirds manager Erol Bulut was pressed on the club's interest in Ramsey last week.

He said: "I don't know about that (signing Ramsey) but quality players we want in the team.

"We are still searching for players who are free in the market, so I hope in the following days we can do it [signing players] quickly.

"I hope in the next week we can finalise a few transfers. We need more quality players in the attacking areas to create more chances and score goals. I know what we need."
