Welcome to our football.london The Arsenal Way daily news round-up.
Maybe not the first, we've definitely done transfer round-ups before, and European round-ups, so I guess in some ways it's not that new at all.
Anyway, we thought we would enter the world of football in a broad and roundabout manner for you and have some fun with some of the stories and captions doing the daily rounds.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leaves Gary Neville with egg on his face following his deadline day exit, meanwhile it's revealed that Edu turned down the chance to sign a former Gunner.
However, the north London transfer chief mustn't ponder as Alexandre Lacazette edges closer to finally confirming Arsenal exit.
Aubameyang lets fails leadership mission
In February 2020, Gary Neville hailed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang a a 'Premier League great' following a match-winning brace against Everton.
The former Manchester United defender and Sky Sports pundit added by tipping the 32-year-old striker as a leader at the Emirates but, following Aubameyang's deadline day exit, the Gabon international has let Neville down.
"You talk about Arsenal lacking leaders, he has everything you could want," Neville told Sky Sports.
"I think this guy is everything you could want, there is a bit of Ian Wright in him, a bit of nastiness. In his interviews he shows a bit of character. He works hard off the ball, works hard on the ball.
"He is one minute behind [Thierry] Henry in all-time minutes per goal. Henry played over longer period, he is ahead of [Gabriel] Jesus, [Mohamed] Salah, Ruud van Nistelrooy – it felt like he scored a goal every ten seconds.
"It is unbelievable performance of this lad over two years. We don't talk of him as a Premier League great but I think we have to."
Our view: One his day, Aubameyang was one of the best Premier League strikers around and Neville was right in what he said two years ago - it's just a shame that the former Arsenal captain left in the manner that he did.
Arsenal said no to Ramsey return
Former Gunner Aaron Ramsey has joined Rangers on loan for the rest of the season after a deal was agreed between Juventus and the Scottish champions.
The 31-year-old midfielder has struggled to adapt to life in Turin since arriving in 2019, featuring just 70 games the Italian giants.
However, despite Ramsey's international pedigree and healthy reputation among Premier League fans, six clubs turned down the chance to sign the Welshman on deadline day, according to JOE.
The report claims that Arsenal were one of six sides to have rejected Juventus' offer to take Ramsey under their wing.
JOE add that Ramsey - who reportedly earns a salary of around £400,000 per week at the Allianz Stadium - has been placed on the transfer list by Massimiliano Allegri, who previously claimed that the Wales international has no future with the Old Lady.
Our view: While I'm not surprised that so many clubs evaded the financial responsibility of taking on a player, who is notoriously injury prone, with big wages, I'm surprised Edu just didn't take the risk.
Arteta has a very thin squad and his presence would've been felt on and off the pitch.
Although, I suppose if Arsenal handed Ramsey a contract then they might feel obliged to hand one to Jack Wilshere too - may as well get Ian Wright back in shin pads again at this rate...
Lyon back in for Lacazette
Lyon attempted to sign Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette during the January window and will make him a 'priority' this summer, according to French outlet L'Equipe.
The 30-year-old, who joined the Gunners from the French side back in the summer of 2017 for £52million, is into the final five months of his deal at the Emirates making him available at the end of the season for free.
Arteta is also likely to lose Eddie Nketiah, whose deal is also running out at the end of the season, potentially leaving the north London side with just one senior striker - Folarin Blaogun - ahead of next season following Aubameyang's deadline day exit.
Our view: Lacazette's future at Arsenal has been all but set in stone this season amid his contract situation, so what is more shocking is that the Gunners failed to secure a striker in January.
With the France international - as it stands - leaving in the summer, Nketiah too, then Edu will have missed out on £40.5 million worth of sales, as per Transfermarkt, and be left no choice but to surely splash the cash, signing at least two strikers in the summer.
