Aaron Ramsdale's celebration explained following Arsenal's victory vs Wolves

Aaron Ramsdale's brother has explained the talented goalkeeper's celebration following Arsenal's win over Wolves on Thursday night.

The north Londoners clinched all three points at Molineux Stadium thanks to a first-half strike from Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhaes, with his close-range finish proving to be the only goal of the game.

However, Gabriel Martinelli's red card put a dampener on the north Londoners' excellent display as the 20-year-old received his marching orders for two quick-fire fouls just after the hour mark, much to the annoyance of Mikel Arteta.

Gunners' shot-stopper Ramsdale was then seen celebrating with the travelling fans after the full-time whistle and the England international's brother, Edward, took to social media to explain the context.

Writing on Twitter, Edward said: "BOING BOING. Baggie growing up. Gooner for Life. Up the @Arsenal @WBA."

In another post, he added: "Brought up a West Brom fan. So that “boing boing” meant something from our childhood. Up the @Arsenal."

Considering Wolves' local rivals are West Brom, the team Ramsdale supported growing up, the victory will be even sweeter for the 23-year-old.

In fact, Thursday's clean sheet was the 11th Premier League shutout that the former Sheffield United 'keeper has recorded in just 17 league outings for Arsenal - a record that has resulted in Watford star Ben Foster claiming his compatriot is now world-class.

“There’s a massive difference between up and coming and should be and might be, because when you actually get out there and you have to do it week in, week out, it’s a very different proposition,” Foster told 90min.

“That’s when you can really see if you’ve got that few extra per cent which makes you either world-class or just a good goalkeeper.

“At the minute, I think the one that’s out there doing it, proving it and showing it is Aaron Ramsdale. It’s very easy to say that, but he’s actually doing it.

“He is showing everyone that he is world-class. He’s got everything to his game, he can make saves, he’s dominant, he plays out from the back and he’s doing it week in, week out.

"You’ll very rarely see a mistake from him, he’s always the same temperament and he looks like he’s a leader as well.”
