Arsenal star Aaron Ramsdale has defended Liverpool after their poor start and expects a tough game at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon.
The Gunners come into the clash as favourites for the first time in years as they look to reclaim top spot in the Premier League. Ramsdale is set to return to the starting lineup after being rested for the Europa League win against Bodo/Glimt, with Matt Turner impressing and keeping a clean sheet.
The English goalkeeper completed a £25million move to the Emirates Stadium last year and quickly became Mikel Arteta's No.1 choice in goal, replacing Bernd Leno who joined Fulham a year later. The Gunners' 'keeper has conceded eight goals in eight games so far this term and will be hoping he can earn a fourth clean sheet of the season against the Reds this afternoon.

Liverpool have not been at their best so far this season, winning just two games in the Premier League but still have the players to cause Arsenal issues. Ramsdale has defended Jurgen Klopp's side ahead of the clash stating 'you don't become a bad team overnight'.
The Gunners goalkeeper said: “You don’t stay at the top of the league for how long they have. You don’t become a bad team overnight.”
Liverpool almost completed a famous quadruple-winning season last term, but narrowly missed out on the Premier League and UEFA Champions League. Ramsdale has called upon his teammates and the Arsenal fans to get the Emirates Stadium rocking and pick up an eighth win in nine games.
"We've got to be on our game like we have been throughout the start of the season. Hopefully we can get the Emirates rocking again and have another good weekend," Ramsdale added.
