Aaron Mooy 'unbelievable' Celtic worth hailed as Australian star coy on Parkhead future

Greg Taylor has hailed Aaron Mooy as unbelievable as the on-fire Aussie is coy on his long-term Celtic future.

Mooy has been Celtic’s top performer since the Premiership resumed after the World Cup and was outstanding again in the 4-1 win at St Johnstone that restored the nine-point lead at the top of the Premiership. Taylor told Sky Sports: "He's been unbelievable but he needs to stop playing so well!

"He's been amazing, especially since the World Cup, getting a run in the team. Chipping in with goals and assists. We're really pleased to have him.

"We started the game really well. It was a tough pitch, the ball was bobbling away. To get the goals in the first half gave us full control, second half it was about maintaining that and getting the three points.”

Ange Postecoglou revealed pre-match that he could be looking to extend the 32-year-old’s contract beyond it’s expiration in the summer of next year.

But Mooy said: "Long term? I'm getting a bit older. I'm just enjoying what I'm doing day by day. That's as far as I think ahead. We'll see."

"It was a good day. We got the goals in the first half. We clinched another one at the end there, so 4-1, good result.

“I made a late run, Jota chipped it over the top I took a touch and tried to take it early and get it over the keeper. It was a good goal."
