Aaron Mooy in fresh Celtic link as in demand free agent has 'offers all around the world'

In-demand Aaron Mooy has 'interest from all around the world' according to his agent, with Celtic once again linked with the Australian midfielder.

The ex-St Mirren, Manchester City, Huddersfield Town and Brighton star has negotiated his release from Chinese side Shanghai Port. The 31-year-old was a big player for Parkhead boss Ange Postecoglou when he was manager of the Socceroos and Mooy is set to go to the World Cup in Qatar later this year as long as he signs for a club that gives him playing time after his spell in China was heavily disrupted due to Covid restrictions.

And his agent, Josh Barnett, has revealed to Australian media that Mooy has no shortage of admirers. He said: "There’s plenty of interest around the world for Aaron and we’re weighing up all the options. "There’s certainly no rush to make a decision."

Mooy is currently based in Glasgow with his Scottish wife and family and helped the Aussies reach a World Cup spot after play-off wins over United Arab Emirates and Peru. He previously praised Postecoglou's work and stated: He’s a very good coach. The style that he wants to play is the way I like playing as well. I’m happy to be playing under him.

"He’s intimidating, but the way he wants to play football, I want to play like that as well. I’m enjoying it.”

Mooy last played in Scottish football ten years ago for St Mirren before returning home to sign for Western Sydney Wanderers before a move to Manchester City.
