Aaron Judge tied the AL home run record with his 61st of the season and MLB fans went wild

It took over a week of waiting for Aaron Judge to get this milestone, but boy is this a sweet one.

Yes, after hitting his 60th home run of a season over a week ago, Judge has now tied the AL home run record with 61 dingers this season. That number puts him into a deadlock with Roger Maris, with one more to go to break the single-season record that has stood since 1961.

The historic home run came against the Toronto Blue Jays, as in the top of the seventh, Judge hit a laser out to left field that cleared the wall, landing in the Blue Jays bullpen. Not only that, the home run gave the New York Yankees the 5-3 lead, as Judge once again came up in the clutch for his team.

What a moment! And check out the wholesome and ecstatic reaction from Yankees’ dugout too.

Coming into Wednesday night’s game, Judge had +250 odds to hit a home run as well. Not too bad of a night for Judge and the Yankees!

Most MLB fans — but not all of them! — had nothing but praise to heap upon Judge after tying the long-standing AL record.
