Bologna fullback Aaron Hickey has spoken out about reported interest in his services as Arsenal have been linked with a summer transfer.

Now, the 22-year-old has admitted he sees all the speculation surrounding his future in Serie A. Speaking to Sky Sports, via the Scottish Express, Hickey said: "I do see quite a lot of talk.

"One of my friends text me today saying 'what's happening here, lad?' They're sending me stuff for transfers and talks, but it's nice to know there's interest of other clubs.
"It gives you some confidence and stuff. You just keep your head down and focus in football."
Hickey has enjoyed an excellent 2021/22 campaign, netting six goals whilst also averaging 6.86 passes under pressure and 2.46 fouls drawn per 90 minutes, as per fbref, and he has now admitted that he has played better than what he expected from himself. He added: "I'm proud.
"I didn't expect it to go as well as it has done. I expected to just try and come here and break into the first team, get appearances.
"But, I've managed to break in and do well and managed to score a couple of goals."
